Christ Presbyterian Church in Magna, Utah is a former LDS meeting house which was sold in the late sixties. Pastor Jason Wallace and his congregation bought the facility for $150,000 in 2007. Through a great deal of hard work, faith and the help from his two sons, four daughters, wife and congregation, the building is nearly completely renovated.

Sermon Excerpt from Pastor Jason Wallace:

The leper is a picture of us in our sin.  The image of God has been defaced through sin.  Isaiah 64:6  describes us, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.”  We and all we touch becomes unclean, but Jesus did not merely speak the words to heal, as He does later with the centurion’s servant.  Instead, He touches the unclean leper.  Rather than Jesus becoming defiled, the leper becomes clean.  It’s a picture of the whole gospel: Jesus comes as the perfect man; He lives the life we were called to live, but then He takes our sins upon Himself and takes them to the cross.  He who knew no sin, became sin for us, that we might have His righteousness counted to us.  Jesus touches us in our sin, and we become clean.

Jason Wallace is a native of Statesboro, Georgia, and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in business.  After being shaken from a nominal faith, he eventually attended Gordon-Conwell Seminary and graduated in 1998.  He then moved to Utah as a home missionary.  The congregation has grown and bought a historic facility in Magna in 2007.  Pastor Wallace has moderated or led numerous debates at the University of Utah and hosts the weekly, live call-in show, The Ancient Paths, Wednesday nights at 8:00 p.m. on KTMW TV-20.  The church’s website is www.gospelutah.org.

Fire doesn’t respect zoning, property lines, or even the most popular block on Main Street. On the evening of Monday, August 11, 2025, a blaze that began around 8:40 p.m. on Main Street. It moved quickly through a row of aging, interconnected buildings that had become the heart and soul of Salt Lake City’s fledgling bar district. By the time firefighters brought it under control, multiple businesses were damaged, dozens of workers were displaced, and one of the city’s most active stretches went dark.

White Horse never caught fire, but smoke, water, and a partial roof collapse caused extensive interior damage, forcing a full rebuild. Other nearby businesses were affected as well, including some that had helped turn this part of Main Street into one of its most active and economically stable stretches.
