April 20-21—UPOA Fallen Peace Officer Trail Ride. This event raises funds for scholarships for the fallen and injured officers within the State of Utah. Open to the public, each milepost of the trail will recognize a fallen peace officer. For more info visit their website, or call 801-313-0760.

April 21—Earth Day at Ogden Nature Center. Held from 11am to 4pm at the Nature Center, 966 W 12th Street in Ogden. Enjoy earth friendly exhibitors, demonstrations, entertainment, food, nature crafts, and fun activities. Explore the trails, tour our green buildings and learn what you can do to improve the health of the planet. Admission is $4 per person with proceeds going to the Ogden Nature Center.

April 21—Salt Lake City Marathon. Register online. Runners of all ages and ability levels are welcome to this perennial favorite. The marathon and half marathon start at the Olympic Legacy Bridge at the University of Utah, the site of the 2002 Winter Olympic Athlete Village. There is also a 5k run.

April 27—Arbor Day Free Admission at Red Butte Garden. Celebrate Arbor Day at Red Butte Garden with free admission all day. Events include tree giveaway, a tree scavenger hunt, exploration stops, tree planting, and tours. Go to their website for more information.

April 27-28—Wasatch Comic Con A free event for creators and fans at Valley Fair Mall, 3601 S 2700 W, West Valley City. Meet some of the best creators in entertainment. For more information visit wasatchcon.com and facebook.com/wasatchcon.

April 28—Nihon Matsuri Japan Festival. The purpose of this festival is to share and educate the larger Utah community about Japanese and Japanese American culture, history, and traditions as well as to be a way to pass on the Japanese traditions and culture to younger fifth, sixth, and seventh generation Japanese Americans. Featured events include free children’s activities, 5 tea ceremonies, live performances, vendors, food, exhibits, and cosplay. For more information go to their website.
